About VibroLogic
VibroLogic is an AI advisor for vibratory finishing. It is written by Tom Hurley, a third-generation vibratory finisher, and built on three generations of vibratory finishing experience since 1964.
Three generations in vibratory finishing
Tom's grandfather, John Hurley, started in vibratory finishing in 1964. Tom's father, David Hurley, also worked in the trade. Tom was always around the business and started out in the factory, learning to drive a forklift before he could drive a car. He worked through the different areas of the business and ended up running the commercial side at PDJ Vibro.
VibroLogic is that hands-on knowledge, written down.
Why it exists
Vibratory finishing is a mature technology. The knowledge that makes it work well sits in the heads of a shrinking group of practitioners. Choosing the right media, compound, machine and cycle time for a specific part is judgement built on years of production. When that judgement is missing, engineers fall back on generic supplier tables that rarely reflect real production conditions.
VibroLogic captures that judgement in software and makes it freely available to anyone finishing metal parts.
How it works
You describe your part. Material, dimensions, quantity, current condition, finish goal. VibroLogic applies decision rules covering machine selection, media, compounds, water flow and cycle time, and returns a specific, printable recommendation.
When a case is unusual and there is no confident answer, VibroLogic says so rather than inventing parameters.
